Tieria Erde has a female voice during episode 8 of Gundam 00, and whoever was doing it isn't even credited in the ending theme. I am convinced it was either Ogasawara Arisa (who does Marie/Soma) or Honma Youko. (who does Sumeragi) I pride myself in my ability to recognize seiyuus, yet this I am afraid I might have to admit defeat - but there's no actual info to confirm or deny this. Do we know yet?
I've sat down and listened to the amazing amount of two lines the female Tieria gets to speak, and the pitch rise she does at the second sentence is similar to how Ogasawara does the casual speaking Soma - but not similar to how she voices as Marie. The pitch isn't there from Honma however, she never raises her voice to that kind of pitch, always the calm and sultry voice from Sumeragi. I don't have any previous experience with both of their voices as they're both fairly new and not too much used either, and I haven't seen the shows they've been in. Should I get Wolf's Rain to hear more of Ogasawara, maybe? It's not like I want to even watch Futari wa Precure for more of Honma.
P.S. Marie is awesome.
There is much hate on Aya Hirano for getting one of the most hyped roles in a show this season, in Akane-iro ni Somaru saka. And I remember there being hate on her for being Chiko in Nijuu-mensou no Musume and tons of people bashing her early role as Mamoru in Eyeshield 21. So which roles is her voicing abilities accepted in, why is there such a fanbase for her? There must be something that drives this fury in fanboys to like her.
I dug around in various communities to see comments and musings from roles she has been doing, and all the positive reflections seems to be well rounded on a couple stereotype roles; wacky characters who do weird stuff (Konata, Haruhi, Sanae, Saru no Momo) or characters who have some kind of mental problem they're trying to cope with by presenting a cheerful front (Reira, Misa, Mahiro). What are the similar traits of all these characters, even while a different setereotype? Goofy, cheerful indifference and somehow carefree attitudes. And almost never a serious tone without it being for the sake of comedy.
This brings me to think that the voice qualities of Aya Hirano seem to be well accepted when she is doing her wacky roles, because of her ability to pitch the tones on single syllables like mad. She does this alot on both Konata and Haruhi, which are probably her best received roles ever. I never noticed her even existing until Haruhi, and it was then that I started watching previous stuff like Eyeshield 21 and checking Kiddy Grade again, just to hear her big-sister role and classy loli role. Not quite doing it, even though she has a taste of that wackyness on the loli since she's eleganto ni all the time.
Coming this season, she is doing Minato Nagase in Akasaka, and Ayumi Nonomura in Hyakko. The latter which is a wacky character, and probably going to be well-received as a clone of Konata in a completely different role. Her role in Linebarrels of Iron as Kujou Miu I know too little about, but if they again give her a serious character, there is going to be so much hate, oh so much hate.
MoonPhase seems to have received a mail listing up 4 of the main cast for the upcoming Toradora! anime. While they doubt the credibility of the mail, there is arguably proof of these rumors being true, since the next issue of Dengeki Daioh is going to have a collaboration of the manga-adaption of the Toradora light novels and Shakugan no Shana. Looking at the fact that Kugimiya voices the main character of the Shakugan no Shana anime, this might be the leading trail to this. We might get some even angrier (than Shana and Louise combined) Kugimiya as Taiga, even though there is buzzing on 2ch about it being Tamura Yukari. Cast after the jump.
