I think you fail either at recognizing that multiple spellings exist (if your problem is with 有り難う as opposed to the more-common ありがとう and 有難う) or that ilifin’s blog update could either be interpreted as an ongoing endeavor (and thus warranting present tense ござる) or an endeavor which is largely finished (in which case ござる’s past form was just fine).
What I want to know is, how did that person “fail” other than for flaunting their incomplete Japanese knowledge on a fansubber’s weblog — which is exactly what you did when you replied to them with your put-down?

He’s an obvious troll. Everybody knows that ilifin’s grasp on the language and the culture matches or exceeds that of most major fansub groups’ TLs on the scene today. He’s either trolling for lulz or else he’s a sore loser from one of the less popular groups subbing ToraDora.
I would love it if ilifin included his website notes as in-file endnotes the way that Ayako did for Wolf & Spice, but the fact that he provides notes at all places him way at the front of the fansub group pack. To suggest that TL notes are a sign of incapability or weakness on the TL’s part is laughable. If anything, notes are the only thing somebody who doesn’t speak the language has to tell apart the good fansub groups from the poor ones.

Obviously someone above needs to go out a bit more and enjoy life rather than riding a fail tler’s cock. A.K.A. ilifail, if you all didn’t know. Yeah you /would/ love him putting end notes because the TL couldn’t find a way to make it any simpler, also the size of your… obviously… tiny brain and idiocy needs to learn to read and fail less. Anyway, regarding fail(ilifail), if he wasn’t so damn stupid to put a comma after the word that comes before the word, “too,” he wouldn’t fail as much or drag his editor into a shit hole. His TL aren’t just ruining leechers’ eyes and mentality of the English language, but also his staff members.
